Our resources for students

You will find a wealth of information about VisitBritain, the national tourism organisation responsible for marketing Britain overseas and developing the visitor economy, and what we do in the About us section.

Our Annual Review website is a good place to find information about our yearly results, marketing campaigns and approach for the future. Due to our own limited resources we are unable to assist with individual coursework queries. However we have gathered a number of resources here to assist you further in your research.

Tourism industry facts and figures

Our insights and statistics pages will provide you with a range of data on the latest international visitor and spend figures to Britain. You can use our research database to find specific visitor and spend numbers for a particular market or period of time. For detailed information about a specific market, our market section digs deeper into our research of the 21 key markets which we operate in and their tourism value to Britain.

We publish reports on specific topics, as well as updates on the current conditions of the UK tourism industry on a regular basis. For domestic tourism statistics use the VisitEngland site.
 

Queries specifically about England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or London

We recommend you contact the national tourist board of the individual countries for further information. These are VisitEngland, Visit Wales, VisitScotland and Northern Ireland Tourist Board. Additionally, more information about London including attractions, transport, accommodation and restaurant information can be found on VisitLondon’s website, where you can download the latest edition of the London Planner. Alternatively, please email visitorinfo@londonandpartners.com for further information. ​

Tourism structure in Britain, and tourism policy

Information is available on Britain’s competitiveness, including details of the Britain Tourism Strategy as well as the structure of tourism in Britain.

If you are a student interested in work experience or an internship at VisitBritain, look at our careers section page for vacancies or send your CV to job.opportunities@visitbritain.org. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we regret that we are only able to respond to those candidates short-listed for interview. Frequently asked questions

I would like a brochure, image, poster or map
In an effort to be sustainable, we no longer have brochures or posters available for general distribution, instead all our resources are now available online. Therefore we are unable to send out any printed material for your school project or other purpose.

However you can access a variety of images from our online image library, VisitBritain images or if you would like to purchase a map of Britain or a particular area you can visit our VisitBritain shop. 
 

I need more information about Britain and travelling to Britain
Our consumer website contains information about visiting Britain, including how to best plan your trip to the UK, as well as inspirational ideas about places to visit and things to do.
