AMD could really pull that off if they want, they basically did it for consoles right? - even with Xbox Series S performance it could be a hit in current market. For sure I would be a client for such device...

Can’t believe why would anybody back then though that keyboard should be used in portrait on iPads? 🙂 I know it was „forced” by dock connector on the bottom, but still…

I remember exact this version played on an 8-bit Atari - when me and my friend tried to figure out what planes those triangles are in reality 😅 Feeling of flying a jet fighter was real though! Especially for a 5-6 year old boys…

Don't be confused: Jira for Mac was a separate app on the AppStore, but it was a Catalyst version of iOS/iPad app... Interesting if they will allow to at least install it on M1 Macs 😕

Ugh, bad news for Mac Catalyst unfortunately, and a bad news for all JIRA users on the Mac. Sure, desktop app wasn't feature complete, but it was way faster (!) and consumed less memory cc

Remember that playing it on a PC, required a rather beefy one back in the day. Still looks great 👍

But to be clear: I also admire work by team! They choose different approach, maybe a bit worse in some cases, but Homebrew has merits on their own 👍

I regret that I haven’t used MacPorts on macOS before (instead of ) Despite having less packages, it’s way better in every possible way: - faster - cleaner installation - support of multiple user accounts - easy package versions management - better arm64 support

Well… actually someone indeed made a mobile game out of it (well, blatantly copied it) - and it was as expected 😀 To get longer words you would have to pay 5$ a WEEK subscription 😛 Apple pulled this clone from the AppStore…

When a company discontinues a product they should be legally required to make the recipe for it publicly available. You can't just Flowers For Algernon my taste buds, I can't just go back to being the man I was before.

Anyone has some tips regarding „battery hygiene” for MacBooks (or laptops in general)? that are almost constantly connected to a display (and charging)? This is obviously a (very) bad thing for Li-Ion batteries. But should I even care? Or modern laptops will handle this „ok”?

This is a very good question and even if I bought a MacBook Pro recently - I’m still teared apart whether or not keep it or go back to Mac + iPad way 🙃

I can’t really imagine why this would be useful for iPads? 🤔

I highly doubt it aims to „replace the iPhone” - why replace while it can be an additional device, a necessity, like an Apple Watch?

Yep, I would also argue that Apple themselves should straight out remove some apps from the Watch completely: Mail. Messages, Photos, Contacts, Stocks - for many of them it’ll be enough to just have a complication/notification

In general I would love Apple Watch integration for macOS and iPads - media control, fitness, health sync (there's no Health apps on those platforms)

True! From my point of view I would love to move into this area as well, as they were a kind of pioneers in this area, with system-level integration of dictionaries and spellcheckers. It's time to level up!

Does anyone knows about some iPhone dock - that has USB-C as an input? 😉 Nothing fancy: wired as I would like to use it for debugging, I’m just tired of having two cables for iPad/iPhone 🤨
