Dieter Bohn’s Tweets

Okay, that is a lot. Excited for my next at Google, proud of The Verge, grateful for so much. See you all when I see you. I forgot the pun. That’s okay, it’s Friday after all, and I have tabs to close.

And thank you to everybody who’s read, tweeted, watched, listened, liked, and subscribed. I’ve always felt a genuine kinship with our audience – “audience” is too passive a word. You are my people, and I will miss you.

Most of all thank you to , my very best friend, partner in media crime (we did no actual crime), and an incredible EiC for The Verge. You’ve pushed me to think more clearly and be more ambitious every day.

There are far, far too many people I’m grateful to have worked with over the years. I could heap effusive praise on everybody from The Verge past and present, but I’m already outstaying my Personal News Tweetstorm welcome here, so will keep it short.

I am wildly excited for what is coming at The Verge. The future there is very bright with major, important projects in the pipeline and some innovative new ways to cover tech coming soon.

(Do those posts sublimate my very strong feelings into half-based ramblings about philosophy? Yep. Will I deflect those feelings here on twitter with puns? MAYBE. But I’ll try to be actually sincere.)

We wanted to make sure I said goodbye properly to our big, multi-platform audience, so we’ve got a post, a video, and a farewell vergecast with and and ….an Elvis impersonator (???). It’s in the feed, subscribe!

Soon, I’ll be accepting a new role on the Platforms & Ecosystems team at Google, helping with the future of products like Android, Chrome, and much more. I’m very excited and humbled to get the chance to work with and team.

I regret to inform you that this cable runs at USB 2 speeds. 😔 It's still cool, to be sure, but I won't be running out to buy it. theverge.com/2022/3/3/22960 Update here ^

oh I love this, a USB-C cable with a switch that disables the data pins but leave the charging pins intact, so you can use it on a public charger. theverge.com/2022/3/3/22960

Watched this last night and it's so much more than what you expect. It's a ridiculously fun video about creativity, problem solving, engineering challenges, artistic expression, and community. Sincerely go watch this asap.

Ayyy who knew today would be such a good day for bay area infrastructure? Not this guy. I ride Valencia all the time and this is a promise long overdue.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is both the Dark Knight at his most copagandistic and his most inert as an on-screen presence. He has a very cool car, though. My review:
