Steps to reproduce

  1. receive a verification request by someone (doesn't matter if the sender uses Element Android or Desktop)
  2. tap the button to do the verification

Outcome

What did you expect?

The verification process

What happened instead?

Element goes white and returns to the main screen with a message that Element has crashed.

Verification with sending person using Element Android and receiving person using Element Desktop works as expected.

Operating system version

Android 11

Application version and app store

Element 1.4.2, Element 1.4.4 from F-Droid as well as unknown version Google Play Store (didn't happen back when Element 1.4.0 was current on F-Droid)

Homeserver

matrix.org, fairydust.space, and a couple others

Will you send logs?

One of the affected persons sent one once a bit over month ago I think, not sure when I get to verify someone again to reproduce
