Honest review, coming from a 1.0 player that still plays.

To make this clear, genshin is great! It’s honestly a lovely game and the terrain is beautiful. A lot of people may complain about pity, which is fair but it’s good to keep in mind that this is a gacha game, meaning what you want is completely based off luck when you wish, and I have nothing wrong with that, good on Hoyoverse for earning so much revenue off this great game, it’s well deserved. Genshin isn’t for everyone, so if you don’t like this game, you don’t have to share that, otherwise you are just giving an opinion no one wants to hear, just uninstall it and go on with your day. Personally, I found genshin to be fun, so I still play. Genshin can be pricey if you enjoy wishing and want to spend money to buy genesis crystals, but if you don’t have the money, don’t buy them, just simply save them up for a character you like. The game has its ups and downs, which I will state now since I’ve said my positives. Genshin can be laggy on both mobile and computer if you don’t have the right graphics for a large game like this and by that I mean REALLY laggy, around 5 fps when it’s usually 30-60 fps. This problem can cause crashing and some lag outside of game too, if you have the window still opened. This frustrating issue can be fixed by just cleaning out some storage in your files or using a different device with a better graphics card. The genshin community overall can be toxic, but sometimes you will find some friends along the way, which is definitely worth it in my opinion, but if you have issue with that you can just play outside of co op mode. That’s all from me, thank you!
Honest opinion

I have been playing genshin impact for a year by now and I think it’s honestly one of the best games I’ve played but there are also some downsides to this game. First of all the graphics, character design and voice acting are all top tier and honestly overwhelming for a free to play game. The storyline is so good and the music is chefs kiss. There are so many characters all with different personalities and appearances and I guarantee you will find a favorite (mine being wanderer <3 )You don’t need to spend money on this game to be good at it, I have a friend who spent more than a thousand dollars on the game. However her characters and mine are similar in ability, the only difference being she has a lot more 5 stars than me. This game never gets boring with there being plenty of updates, events and endgame. Although I personally have not experienced it before, some of my friends and lots of the reviews are saying that there game often glitches so I don’t recommend this game for people playing on phones or pcs with low storage. Compared to some other hoyoverse games the amount of free primos (the currency in game) you get aren’t that much, but honestly I think we shouldn’t complain to much considering the quality of the game. All the characters in game have a lot of depth to them and you can individually interact with them through their story quests and stuff. For a casual gamer like me genshin is honestly such a good game (although currently I’m addicted to honaki star rail) and it deserves 5 stars!!
Been playing for 3 years, it’s incredible

I’ve been playing since the end of 2023 (start of Fontaine in the 4.1 update), and it is genuinely the most amazing game I have ever played. As much as I love this game, I do have some critiques. It would be amazing if we could get more female traveller representation in the media when promoting updates. It would also be great if we got more male playable characters. I would also love if we got a playable character who isn’t inherently ‘good’ (or changing their character to nice to then make them playable). I feel like this would allow for more variety in the character selection. I have a few more critiques but I feel like these were the main ones. To all the players who ask for a skip button, I implore you to find a new game. Genshin Impact is a story-based game, and I love listening and understanding the world of it. I also understand people’s concerns about not being given enough primogems. I feel like hoyoverse should give out at least 75 wishes each update, which is more than fair. Genshin is a patient game, if you’re not patient enough to save for the characters you want, then you have to spend money, but thats your choice. In the end, every character will rerun, so you will always have another chance to get them. With all these suggestions, I am still giving this game 5 stars. This game is beautifully built and it is incredibly immersive.
Good but a ways to go
N…&Pon
Now don’t get me wrong, this is a fantastic game which the devs have obviously worked tirelessly on. There’s great gameplay with diverse landscapes, however I wish there was more diversity in the characters to match. The regions of the game-map and their respective citizens are modelled around real world nations, however the skin tones of the characters don’t vary (to anything more than a light tan) to match the cultures and people they’re representing. This game is at the forefront in a lot of other respects, and as an internationally popular game I don’t understand why they would whitewash and exclude from representation anyone who isn’t fair skinned especially when they’ve already created a story for them to fit. It would also be nice to skip through dialogue, and I found a lot of the gameplay tutorials confusing and wished the descriptions on use of some mechanisms in the game were more detailed/clearer (perhaps with a video?). I ran into a couple other issues too: struggled a bit with crashes, screen freezing and lagging, and losing progression, . . but I’m running out of space haha. The game truly is high-quality, and a lot of fun to play. They got the difficulty scale right, which is hard to do. I DO recommend it and I would’ve left a higher star review, but I wanted the devs to read it because it is truly disappointing given all their hard work and success that in this day and age they still fall short. Looking forward to the next update!
