5 tips to become a Blinkist brainiac

Keep up with your favourite authors, topics and trending titles on the go.

Blinkist condenses popular nonfiction books – including New York Times best-sellers – into manageable 15-minute summaries (called Blinks) for easy reading or listening.

Here are five tips for building a reading routine and retaining more knowledge with Blinkist.

When a sentence stands out, touch and hold to select the text, then tap Highlight to save it.

1. Highlight with intention

Revisit and reflect on the ideas and quotes that resonate by saving them as Highlights. You’ll find the pearls of wisdom you’ve saved in your Library.

New Shorts drop in Blinkist daily and are designed to be quick and fun to swipe through. (Fire one up instead of opening your social feed.)

2. Reset with a Short

When you need a quick reset, head to the Shorts tab. In just a minute or two, you can pick up a new idea or perspective – perfect for when you’re waiting in line or brewing coffee.

3. Integrate audio into your routine

Fit learning into wind-down time or dog walks by switching to audio mode. Tap the Play icon on any Blink to have it read aloud, and download episodes for offline listening if you’re on the go. You can also set a sleep timer or adjust the playback speed to move through insights a little faster.

Multipart Guides collect similarly themed Blinks from across the app.

4. Go deeper with a Guide

Looking to dive into something meatier? Go with a Guide. These structured learning paths feel like a mini-course (topics include “Learn About Neurohacking” and “Stop Being Boring”), and they’re thoughtfully curated so each idea builds on the next.

5. Start a conversation in Spaces

A social hub designed to turn what you’re learning into a conversation, the Spaces feature is a way to save and share ideas with friends. Head to the Library tab to create a new Space and start building on insights with others.
