  • Great Jigsaw Puzzles

Jet or Jules or Juli or Julia

I sometimes copy my mom’s puzzles and I copy the number she does so It sometimes is actually a lot harder like 196 pieces so I can’t really change the number of pieces but I get some right but a lot wrong so I just keep pressing the button “ Hint” a lot but a lot but a lot I keep doing lower numbers.

  • Love to play, but the constant ad pop-ups are annoying

    SarcasticMystic

This is truly one of my favorite apps, and doing the puzzles is so relaxing. But one of the reasons I pay for Apple Arcade is to avoid ads — and the constant ads for Mobility Ware’s other games are irritating and often cover up the options bar as I’m playing. They used to pop up and then quickly go away, but now they pop up and stay until I swipe them away. I agree with some of the other reviewers that a lot of the art is super corny and cheesy, but there is such a giant library of puzzles that it’s easy to just ignore what you don’t like and search for what you want.I love the robust features like choosing the number of pieces, rotation or not, etc. I would love some more challenge options.Another issue I have that I can’t seem to fix is the sync between my iPhone and iPad. I want to be able to start a puzzle on my phone and pick up seamlessly on the iPad but I have never been able to get it to work, even though I am logged in to the same account on both devices. I’ll start a puzzle on one device but when I go to the other it acts like I did not work on the puzzle at all.Overall I really enjoy this app but it would be even better without these glitches!

  • Hands down an Apple Arcade Favorite

I rarely write reviews for apps but as soon as I saw this dropped, I was immediately excited! I have been playing another jigsaw puzzle app for a year or two and I was soooo annoyed with the ads that would pop up while working a puzzle but the subscription they offered was too much for too little content (and the content that was offered was very stock photo options with very little actually cute puzzles). Not this one! So many amazing designs are offered! Disney, art, paintings and so much more. I love that you can use your own photos for puzzles and the organization for bigger puzzles with the trays and table settings is a million times better than the app I was using before. I’ve seen a few people complain that a lot of the puzzles max at 1000 pieces - I’m personally not too upset with that at the moment but I would love to try my hand at a 3,000 or 5,000 piece puzzle sometime in the future. I love puzzles but I have a zoo at home and it is impossible for me to work on a real puzzle without losing the pieces thanks to my lovely cats so I work on digital puzzles instead.Hands down the best puzzle app on the App Store! If you like puzzles, I think you will love this app. I’ve spent so much time working puzzles since launch and guarantee I’ll put in many more!

  • Mostly good, stop repeating tutorial prompts!

    WillfulWizard

This puzzle app does the job. Love the wide range of puzzle options, ability to use your own picture, and I can get into the puzzling pretty well. It would be nice if there were more varied cuts to the puzzle pieces, but overall not a big deal. The one thing really keeping the app from 5 stars is the tutorial prompts. Now obviously when you start using the app, it’s good to learn where things are. But I’m now 100 puzzles in and it is still reminding me you can filter to edge pieces at the start of EVERY SINGLE PUZZLE. The message blocks seeing puzzle pieces until I dismiss it. Funny thing is, whether or not I want to filter to edges, I’m tired of being told! It’s bad for both people who don’t want the feature and people who do want it at this point! Same thing with the message about locking the board zoom. Here’s a hint on locking the view: I never ever ever want to do it, because it is actively bad at puzzle sizes greater than about 150 pieces on a phone screen. Try it, and see if you can do the puzzle. Telling me about it is annoying noise. I’ve looked for something to turn these off in the settings multiple times and found nothing.Find some way to suppress or let me disable these annoyances and I’ll easily bump my rating up to 5 stars.

The good: Arcade version has no ads, no IAPs, and the multiple currencies for buying/earning access to new images are removed—you have access to every puzzle in the database, every background, every feature. Plus: Piece count goes all the way up to 1024, which should be more satisfying than my favorite jigsaw app’s 500. There are a couple good QoL features like Edges-only mode if you want, or toggling piece rotation. You can also use your own images. The bad: The largest virtual table isn’t anywhere near big enough for all the pieces *and* the puzzle; even on the largest iPad Pro, the screen feels cramped with even 10%-15% of the piece count out of the tray. Figured out how they meant for me to use the “sorting trays”; look in the “…” menu while in a puzzle to find it—game seriously needs better tutorialization of features. Fighting constantly against the tiny space, the game won’t stop reminding me I can lock the table (lock out zooming & panning!), the last thing I want. Many of the backgrounds (“tables”) are low-res, distorted images and once you unlock them you can’t get rid of them. (Edit: The backgrounds look okay in portrait mode; they only look awful in landscape.) All the puzzle images are square, the piece counts are square numbers rather than round numbers, and the piece shapes are also square rather than rectangular. It takes a silly number of taps to get out of a finished puzzle & it auto-selects a next puzzle and tries to put you right into it; both obviously artifacts of the ad-filled version’s design. There are also several icons & symbols left over (with no explanation) marking certain images as though they required a secondary currency, or ads, to unlock—despite being unlocked already. Oh, and simple features like panning and zooming aren’t smooth. I’m getting stuttering and lag on an M1 iPad Pro, even with low piece counts. Considering how low-res the entire interface is and how little is involved, this seems ridiculous.

  • Piece shapes aren’t right

    hibi88

In a real jigsaw puzzle, or in the most serious games in the Apple Store, a puzzle isn’t just a matter of where does a piece looks like it fits: It’s about whether the same of two pieces physically connects correctly. This is extra special in areas with minimal color and shape gradients: There might be 80 candidates that have a similar color, but the edges of the wrong pieces don’t even look like they connect if you look close, as the shape is wrong. A good puzzle solver can then, just by eye, know how pieces pair up without actually looking at the picture. In this game, this isn’t true. There are basically 4 piece shapes, and the edges are indistinguishable at playable zoom levels. Therefore there is a lot more trial and error in, say, a 500+ puzzle with a blue sky covering 25% of it, when in other apps, or a quality physical puzzle, this wouldn’t happen. So really, this game is jus not at its best past, say, 100 pieces, and you have to go all by the picture.

  • Won’t load anymore

    bobbhop

Update: i’m late updating my review, but customer service was great. It was just a couple of days before the problem with my puzzles was fixed. I still love this app!First, let me say that I loved this app when it used to let me play. I have deleted and reloaded it many many times. I’ve cleaned out my cache. I’ve updated my iPhone. I’ve turned my Wi-Fi on and off. I’ve restarted my phone. I have a strong Internet and cellular connection, but the app keeps telling me I need a network connection. When I open the app, it lets me complete the cupcake puzzle, but that’s it. App will not load anything else. I have plenty of memory. Please help! Was I playing too much? That’s the only thing I can think of.

  • Fun, but has serious flaws

    bjr.12

Overall, this is a good game. I enjoy doing the puzzles and the interface is fairly smooth. However, the game absolutely annihilates the battery on my iPad. Even when the game is not running actively in the foreground, it seems to consume battery. The battery report in iOS attributes a large percentage of my usage to this app. Additionally, it does not give me credit for puzzles that I complete most of the time. When I go back to choose a new puzzle, the one I just finished does not show as completed. Sometimes it forgets that I have completed a puzzle. When I reopen the app, it shows the puzzle as in progress and partially completed even though I have finished it already. So it needs some work, but they don’t seem to be actively working on it as it doesn’t update very often.

  • Finally a puzzle app

Try this puzzle app and you'll never want to get rid of Apple Arcade. Puts many puzzle apps to shame. Don't get me wrong. I love Patterns but this app is easier for me to play. I have gotten several of the Mobility Ware before I had Apple Arcade. Much better in Apple Arcade. So far, all the puzzles have been free. Run to as little as 10 puzzles to 40 per group. Most of the Disney are the normal wonderful pictures. They have at least two Winnie the Pooh groups, Lilo and Stitch. 101 Dalmations to newer movies. Encanto. They have got groups of pictures. Disney Villans, Disney Princesses.I've given info about the Disney puzzles since so many people love them, but they have a set of Norman Rockwell pictures. Drawings that country ketch, cats, dogs, farm animals, wild animals, patterns, etc. The lowest number of choice is 9. The highest I've gone is 144. Table backgrounds are limited. Only about 10. You also have the choice of difficulty level relating to how you want your prices set. The inner pieces you can place and they won't move. Nice to play with prview in background. I have enjoyed this app a lot.

  • Play EVERY Day - but what puzzle am I playing?

    Cyberkashi

I really enjoy this app. There are a few little quirks that make me crazy and a few enhancements I think would benefit the app.1. It makes me nuts that I can’t find the name of the puzzle that I’m playing (or have completed) or the collection that it came from. I only get to see the collection briefly after it’s solved.2. The puzzle table space was reduced a while ago so I can’t lay out all the pieces anymore like I would with a physical puzzle on a table and have any room to work. I typically do the 529 size.3. I wish there were more puzzle trays and I wish I could name them. I would also like to see assembly trays rather than tabs with vertical lists of pieces I can scroll a few at a time.4. I love to assemble the puzzles, but I’m not crazy about laying them out and finding the right pieces. I’d love to see an Auto puzzle layout which lines up all the pieces on the table. I’d also like auto layouts that sort the pieces by color or shape. But I still enjoy this game very much. The variety and image quality is excellent.
