  • Best language learning app for achieving advanced proficiency!

    Bolong86

I can’t speak highly enough about this platform. I’ve used most language learning apps (and still use others because I enjoy mixing things up) but LingQ is by far the #1 language learning platform. I lived and studied in Japan and China for 8 years (fluent in both). I use LingQ to maintain and grow the languages I know as well as learn new languages. LingQ enabled me to attain an intermediate level in Ukrainian (which I am still working on). Excellent app!

Dear user, thank you very much for sharing your valuable feedback. We’re glad you’re enjoying LingQ!

  • The summer I turned pretty for LingQ

    wes heyde

It is at my level. I fear that it is translating idioms from English to Spanish. That being said… this is my first book and I am beginning to really get fast and it is so much fun to read I. My target language. The ai is great, it lets me fly through stuff. I’m recogniIng patterns and some of my tough verbs are getting stronger and more recognizable. I am excited about this app—- like I’m finally getting the light speed input I’ve always wanted…. So far, so fun.

Thanks for the great review! We’re glad you’re enjoying your experience with LingQ!

  • LingQ Mandarin Chinese HSK1 course quite good

    Don't have one999

It took me a while until I fully appreciated how good the LingQ Mandarin Chinese HSK 1 course is. I use LingQ in conjunction with four additional mobile apps: 2 specifically designed to teach Pinyin, one behind a payroll called Hello Chinese and a 4th for individual Chinese characters called Hanly. I pay for a yearly subscription to LingQ and appreciate it more and more, the more I use it. It goes without saying that I am a huge fan of polyglot Steve Kaufman.

    Developer Response

Thank you for the thoughtful review! We're glad the Mandarin HSK 1 course has become more valuable the more you've used it, and that LingQ works well alongside the other tools in your Chinese routine.

  • Great way to learn a new language

    sirwebber1987

I really like using LingQ to learn a language. It takes some getting used to, but when you do, it really is a great way to learn via comprehensible input. I also really like the various stats it focuses (Lingqs created, words learned, etc) since it gives me very tangible progress. Main negative is that it is somewhat buggy / not best performance, but the overall system / approach is great.

    Developer Response

Thank you for the thoughtful review. We’re glad the comprehensible-input workflow and progress statistics keep your learning tangible. We also appreciate the honest feedback about bugs and performance. Tell us more about at support@lingq.com.

  • Interface needs a lift, course work is fabulous

    SpecGrav

Pros:The audio is not the flat, sort of accent-less drinking you get with other apps. It’s engaging, and challenging. Multiple people who speak differently and at different speeds is what really happens in life. As well, it instructs you from the first minute to listen, listen, listen, which is so much more important than people tend to think. Cons:The app interface is not very intuitive, and the help topics aren’t much… well, help.

    Developer Response

Thank you for the balanced feedback. Authentic voices and extensive listening are central to LingQ, but the interface and help experience should make that workflow easier to understand. We appreciate the clear criticism.

  • It works but it’s clunky

    SH3RKHAN

Great way to learn by reading and listening and marking the words as you go, but it’s clunky and you have to make your own curriculum. Wish there was a series after the mini stories that brings up frequent words in different contexts so that they stick. Also would be good to have a vocabulary trainer to automatically keep repeating flash cards in proper intervals. Especially words that are left over from prior lessons.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. LingQ is built around learning through reading and listening in real content, but we understand that clearer guidance and smarter vocabulary review would make the experience easier. We’ll keep working on improving both.

  • Great App for Learning English

    Anna0544

This app has helped me improve my English a lot. Reading every day has become much easier, and I understand more than before. The stories are interesting, and I like that I can learn new words in context. I highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to improve their English in an enjoyable way. Thank you for creating such a helpful app

    Developer Response

Thank you for the wonderful review! We're especially glad that reading every day and learning words in context are helping your English comprehension grow. That's exactly the kind of consistent exposure LingQ is built for.

  • One of the better apps

    Olvenskol2

Took me a while to get into the swing of it, but now it’s my most-used learning app. Drawbacks are occasional translation errors and somewhat odd designation of “words”. But it does a lot and works with lots of sources. Once you find some appropriate material to study, you’re golden. I use in conjunction with a chat AI (Claude in my case) to dig into deeper questions. The built-in AI is getting better, but I already have Claude trained up for what I want.

    Developer Response

Thank you for the balanced review. LingQ can take some time to click, so we’re glad it became your most-used learning app. Your feedback on translations, word forms, and the built-in AI is appreciated.

  • A great way to learn a language

    MichaelToback

I’ve been using LingQ for several years now just got serious with it in the last year. It’s great for reading and listening and building vocabulary in many different languages at once or a single one if you choose if I use it for both French in Spanish and I’m very happy with the content.

    Developer Response

Thanks, Michael! Great to hear LingQ has become a serious part of your French and Spanish learning. Reading, listening, and building vocabulary through content you enjoy is exactly what we're aiming for.

  • Fantastic for Intermediate Learners

    crystallyn

I've been learning Italian for over a decade, and while I can carry on a conversation without a problem, I need to massively up my levels of vocabulary and understanding of those vocab words in context. Being able to read, hear, and understand in the way that LinQ presents the material has drastically bumped up my comprehension.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the great review! That’s exactly what LingQ is built for — building vocabulary and comprehension through reading and listening in context.
