This could be a great app....could be a great service but isn't. Why, you ask? Because Adobe has built the entire workflow based on a false assumption: that every potential signer has an email address. I realize that it is increasingly rare for someone NOT to have an email address, but there is a huge market segment that doesn't. Consider the elderly, for example. I work for a Meals on Wheels service and our case managers must be able to obtain a signature on the application from the individual when they are at their home. But the Adobe Fill and Sign service requires that you enter an email address for each signer. So, although the app does allow for "in person" signing, you can only access the signature page after having specified the email address of the signer. If the app would allow for an individual's identity to be entered with the name and address vs. email, the app could completely revolutionize our workflow. But as it is, it doesn't help us one iota. This seems like such an obvious thing that it is difficult for me to fathom that this isn't an option. The other signing services we have looked at, including the excellent "SignEasy" app, allow it. Maybe Adobe will read this review and consider adding alternative ways to specify an identity besides email......or maybe they won't. I am sure that their competition like Docusign and Echosign are happy to scoop up the customers who are left behind by this poor decision.

  • Adobes overall user experience needs an overhaul

Adobe makes strong products. However As a cc subscriber I find the experience endlessly frustrating. the motivation to innovate and improve experience for its users seems 2nd to collecting more users and subscriptions and subscriptions on top of subscriptions. It’s as bad as everyone said it would be when the model switched. Endlessly signing into accounts and on mobile it’s the same. More important however is I cannot use adobe to collaborate or connect with clients because it requires signing up for at least an ID. I don’t think it’s much to ask if a client but as a creative provider my job is take steps away and make things easier and not encumber clients with steps. I have clients that even use cc but when it comes to PDFs need or prefer other platforms because they are simply easier to use. This specific app is fill&sign and it should simply just do that. I happen to like the way these products work in emailing and collecting signatures but many clients still find it frustrating. There should be 0 frustration involved in ... here’s your file, sign here and return yet it’s still unintuitive. I have a client right now using a form I created through adobe that they need people to sign on site. I walked them through acrobat and fill and sign, software they have used before and they gave up on it as an option. I don’t really blame them. They are using Xodo. A solution I think creates other problems but it makes the simple and primary need of simply having someone answer some question and sign a tablet as easy as it should be.

  • Horrendous

Absolutely horrendous and painstakingly awful to use. I have acrobat pro so should work but you log into an “app” which is really a poorly designed webpage that is turns out to not be mobile friendly. My document was created and sent through the pc acrobat pro. After my clients both signed, I tried to sign the document on the iPhone App Store “app”, Adobe Sign. When I clicked on the View and Sign button nothing happened. It tried several times and even logging out and doing it again and nothing. I clicked on one of the other items it stretched across big and couldn’t see and the “app” would not let me move the screen to see it. I tried this same thing through the “app” on my iPad and the same thing. The other adobe apps and pc version are great but this non-app “app” continues to be a terrible. So many of the other digital signature apps are leaps and bounds better. If I wasn’t so happy with the other adobe products I would switch. Ever since they bought echo sign they have continued to make that part of acrobat pro worse. Adobe should just start over, make a real app and not a crappy web app and keep up product standards like the rest of their products. I have tried using this app several times before and was hoping by now it was better, but it isn’t and decided i had to give my opinion on it. I ended up signing by clicking through the standalone Acrobat app but I still had do have it text me a link to sign but I should’ve been able to do this with the acrobat sign app all in one step. If you don’t need their other products and you only need a document signing app, choose something else.

  • Great Update

    RomanAurora

Adobe recently did updates to their Acrobat and echo sign apps. So far I love the new layouts. The new esign manager is much more user friendly than the echo sign that it replaced. which is perfect for somebody like me that doesn't need to use it that often. prior to this release I was actually using another third-party app for quick signatures. It's nice to see that Adobe is putting more effort into their mobile apps. I have been a creative cloud user since the day it was released and been through all the growing pains from every app that they have. This marks another small step in recent months to finally starting seeing solid functionality between mobile and desktop. As a desktop user I still would like to see a lot more pro features in the mobile apps across the board especially for creative cloud users. I wouldn't be paying 70+ dollars a month if I wanted basic software. Overall this is a great next step in their mobile line.

  • Perfect! and clients don’t need an app to sign.

    JoeAtch2

Perfect app. It’s the same price as the other options available. It has more security available and a solid audit trail. For a bit more money it is IRS compliant. The bad reviews seem like they are written by Docusign programmers. None of the complaints listed are valid. In fact they are completely incorrect. You can insert signature tabs anywhere, you can create unlimited templates for repeat documents like client engagement letters. I have hard coded all of my documents that need signatures by clients. I chose EchoSign because my clients do not need to have the app to sign a document. They click on the email and the signature box pops up and they sign with their finger after verifying some information.I’m a CPA and I tested every single digital signature app. This one was the easiest to use because all the others require the client to download an app and fill out a bunch of personal info to create an account.

  • Why can’t you use Apple Pencil?

    Kevin7299

I’m not the type to give an app one star just because it lacks a single feature, but considering the app is called “Fill and Sign” yet you can’t use the Apple Pencil with it (easily/fully), I think three stars here is generous!I am a DC subscriber and yes, I have initials and a signature loaded up on the app, but if I’m with a client and both of us are needing to sign a single document this should be simply a matter of clicking some writing icon and then writing wherever the heck we want on the PDF - whether it’s our signatures at the bottom or our initials on the side or in the text. Even filling out a form by hand with the Apple Pencil because it’s quicker and easier than typing. To me this should all be part of any app named “Fill and Sign” that runs on a device using Apple Pencil! I’m hearing this is a problem with the IOS app only, while on a Surface device everything’s fine. If so, then please Adobe - please allow us iPad users to get full utility from this app! Thank you. :)

  • Lacks user friendly features

    darlingeve

After using this app and the Docusign app, I believe that Adobe has not spent enough time thinking through the user experience. The app itself has a visually pleasing interface and it's easy to get around in. However, there are some features lacking - like the ability to apply one of your templates to a document in the app, and the ability to send a document to a couple that shares and email address. The last feature is especially annoying along with the fact that if an email address is incorrect and the document has been sent for signing, there's no way to replace the address. You have to cancel the document and start from the beginning. All in all, if you are sending a document that needs one person to sign one time, this app would be adequate. For everything else it's frustrating.

  • Wasn’t able to figure out how to adjust signature or add date

    Gman's ma

Some may be able to easily glide through this app with ease, but I found it to be difficult to use. Was challenging to track done to document in order to upload, then once I figured out how to click & drag the signature line, I couldn’t adjust the box so it fit on the document line. Didn’t see date as an option to add. Sent for signature anyway, and got a message that it wasn’t able to send but the person got it. I’m no pro, but do use Adobe Sign on a regular basis and can usually figure out how to use apps after playing around a little. This one just seems a bit too cumbersome which is unfortunate as it would be a great option to use if I’m away from computer.

  • Cannot initial documents on app

    Jose Pena DCR

I’ve been using Adobe sign for awhile now and the app has never worked properly. I reached out about this issue and no response. When trying to initial documents that is ready for signing. You can only initial first page and then when on to the next initial it will not add your initial. It just stays saying LM with is the apps initial & will not change no matter what device you try to use. I’ve owned 2 iPads and 2 iPhones since using this app and still the same issue. You can get documents ready for signatures and initials thru app but then have to go onto the website to execute contract. No point in this app. I wouldn’t recommend it. Such a waste of time!Adobe thanks for not responding to this issue in the past. Shows that it won’t be fixed & you really don’t care. I pay monthly and deserve a response at least.

Hi Jose Sorry about your issue with repeated initials. Good news is that this will be fixed in our upcoming next release.

  • Works fine and much faster than snail mail

    LawOfficeOfWilliamGMcLeanJr

We take on clients throughout the whole state of FL, so it's great to use this to get signatures back fast and get their cases started faster because of it. The app only has a few bugs or down times once in a great while but not often at all to be concerned. It's easy enough of a program guiding people through it, to sign the document, though some people have trouble with the document themselves. (Though that seems like it's user-error issues at that point.) I've tested it and it is easy to complete and sign the documents and send back. We appreciate it!
