Terrible at carb counting

I’ve been using the app for about a week now and it generally is as promised. Here’s the thing. Don’t accept the first “special offer“ they give you to subscribe. Decline it and you’ll get an even cheaper offer. You’ll get an even cheaper offer. I paid like $29 for Which I think is fair value. More than that I would not have done itAnyway, the app. I think it does a very good job of counting calories. Also does a very good Finding the items on your plate with the AI scanner. An OK, not as good, job at estimating portions. Often when it says 50 g of about 20 g of 30 g. But you can adjust it. It does respond to the text well.Well it does a good job and estimated calories absolutely horrific, pathetic and unuseful job of counting carbohydrates. No amount of text description helps.Diet and I use things such as keto noodles, and keto bread. I know the carbohydrate I use but the app does not respect the text description. How many grams are included.Failing of the app is there is no ability to edit the totals. You can’t go in and edit total that the AI determines. So you’re stuck with it.In other cases where it over use also cannot edit it even if you know how many calories are in your dish you can do is adjust portion sizes down, which of course adjust fat carb down as well so that they are probably inaccurate.Developers, if the first thing you should be working on right now. The very first thing allowing editing of the AI determined totals.

This app is a great concept - take a picture and have AI figure out what it is and count calories for you. If you are completely new to calorie counting, not interested in learning how to do it properly, or just don't care much for accuracy, then maybe this will work for you.For anyone who is a seasoned calorie counter, this app is beyond frustrating. You cannot edit anything you log. You can't even delete it once you log it. As an example, I tested the app with a plain chicken breast, which I weighed beforehand (6 oz cooked). The app did, indeed, correctly identify my chicken breast. However, it asked me how many servings I wanted to log without indicating how much was one serving. If you enter chicken breast manually, it gives you plenty of choices, but if you use the AI tool, you have no control. I would potentially use this app over my preferred calorie tracker (Lose It) if it took the AI information and logged it by component in a meal AND if I could edit or delete those components from my log afterwards. I'm really surprised this app was released before this basic editing feature was added. It seems like they spent a lot of time developing the "meal plan" feature (which is kind of nice but not what I was looking for when I downloaded this app) and not enough time making the calorie tracker part usable, which I imagine is what most people probably want given that it's marketed as a calorie tracker app.

Do not try the 1-week trial unless you plan to pay for a 1-year subscription!

They will charge you for the year subscription even if you cancel your one-week trial. You will not get refunded through the Apple, even with proof that you cancelled (as I did have a screen shot). One of my messages to Apple finally was forwarded to the makers of the Eato app. Their solution was to let me keep the Eato app and offer me a discounted price on some of their other apps..HOW IS THAT A SOLUTION! I just wanted my money back for the charge that I did not authorize. BTW---I tried the one week trial because I was skeptical that this would actually work...and, as I thought, of course it doesn't! Think about it...even if it identifies yogurt (which if it is plain yogurt alone in a bowl, identifying it would be a guess at best, but with berries and granola at least they can make an educated guess based on context of the foods it is paired with...still, it cannot know if it is regular, light, Greek, plain, etc, which vary in caloric content. Needless to say, nothing I tested it on was even remotely close. If you trust it, don't complain when you have to buy some new jeans in 6 months because the app is giving you false information and you are believing it. DISHONEST COMPANY because they charge you for subscription WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION AND YOU WILL NOT GET BACK, also HORRIBLE PRODUCT because it does not deliver on doing what it says it can do. DO NOT DO THE FREE TRIAL UNLESS YOU PLAN ON PAYING FOR A YEAR SUBSCRIPTION THAT YOU WILL LIKELY DELETE OFF YOUR PHONE ONCE YOU TRY IT ANYWAY!

What is the point of the 7 day trial if you just take my money before I’m sure

I downloaded this app 2 days ago. Signed up for the 7 day free trial. And I was charged $40 before the 7 days are up. I like the app enough, it’s cool for the AI to take a picture of my food and analyze it. I know nothing is perfect, it’s gotten what I’m eating wrong a few times mistaken pulled chicken for pulled pork or house salad for Caesar salad, a bit annoying but not the end of the world. I was going back and forth on whether I wanted to use it because my ADHD will use something that’s fun to use for about two weeks and the novelty will wear off. Nothing against this app, but it can ask the hundreds of apps I’ve downloaded in the past why they are no longer downloaded on my phone, I grew bored. This app may have gone the distance but it didn’t even give me 5-7 days to decide. I’d probably use it when I get a job and I’m reaching for snacks vs healthy stuff to help me decide. I want to lose my weight but I more want my money back for the time being. $40 is a lot to spend when for an app I might get bored of and not use.I want those other 4 days to decide if it’s worth it. I honestly just want the money back. 🥺😠😖
