Booktionary has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, or in-app tracking. English definitions are included in the app; French and Spanish definitions and optional translation packs can be downloaded when you choose them.
The app needs camera access to read words on the page. Camera frames are processed on your device to recognise text. The app does not upload camera images or the words you look up.
The app contacts booktionary.io to load the language-pack
catalog. If you tap Get for a language or translation, it downloads the
selected pack. An internet connection is required for the catalog and
downloads. After installation, dictionary lookups and translations run on the
device and work offline.
The catalog and pack files are served by GitHub Pages. GitHub says Pages logs and stores visitors' IP addresses for security. GitHub's Pages documentation does not specify how long those IP logs are retained. Booktionary does not receive your lookup words or camera images.
Your language choices and downloaded packs are stored on your device. They are not sent to Booktionary.
Booktionary does not use accounts, advertising, analytics, or tracking. The hosting provider receives the network information needed to serve catalog and pack requests, including the visitor IP address described above.
The app has no account or advertising. Optional downloads use the network and are subject to the hosting-log practices described above.
This policy will be updated if the app's data practices change.
