Niet altijd soepel. Toen The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered als schaduwdrop verscheen voor de Xbox, PS5 en pc, zag het er prachtig uit. De game was echt een remaster, maar had zo’n grote grafische upgrade gekregen dat het op sommige vlakken voelde als een remake. Tuurlijk was de basis nog hetzelfde, met verouderde animaties en vage missies, maar het was wel een goede reden om de game weer eens grondig op te pakken. Het enige wat tegenviel, was de performance. Vooral op de consoles waren er problemen; zo lukte het in de performance mode bijvoorbeeld niet vaak om een consistente 60 frames per seconde vast te houden. Nu de Nintendo Switch 2-versie is uitgekomen, is natuurlijk de grote vraag hoe de game runt op dat systeem.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered finally makes its way to the Switch 2. And just like the 2025 version, Oblivion remastered brings everything old people like me loved about the original game to a new generation of consoles with vastly improved graphics, gameplay, and a ton of other quality of life features. The Switcha 2 port makes that even better by allowing you to play the game on the goWhile the Switch 2 port isn’t the prettiest version of the game because it’s a handheld. It holds up surprisingly well when compared to a PC running a an RTX 5090 and its console counterparts.On the switch 2 you’ll get the game running at a pretty stable 30fps in both docked and handheld modes with Handheld outputting the game at 900p and docked hitting 1080p thanks to DLSS. That being said it's lowest point is the long load times. In our testing we were seeing some load screens last over 20 seconds on the Switch 2. Regardless, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is a great way to play a classic RPG on the go. Gameplay captured on a docked Nintendo Switch 2 and a PC with an RTX 5090 GPU with the settings cranked all the way up.

But if you were hoping to install your old mods, or even install mods in the future, well, sorry to disappoint. According the Bethesda's Help Page, the game will not feature mod support. We're not sure why, but hopefully it's something they can add in the future. In other remastered news, Days Gone Remastered is getting more accessibility options, including the ability to slow the game down to as low as 25%. This was done to help players having difficulty with hordes. And finally, Nintendo wants the courts to issue a subpoena to Discord for info regarding a leaker. If the courts agree, and if Discord complies, this could have huge repercussions for companies looking to combat leaks.
