Will Reeve announced his cancer diagnosis on the September 29 broadcast of Good Morning America, revealing that he secretly battled testicular cancer over the summer. The ABC News correspondent underwent multiple surgeries and chemotherapy, and he’s since been declared cancer-free.
During the September 30 GMA broadcast, Reeve opened up even further about his cancer journey. As a way to “destigmatize” testicular cancer, he spoke with “three men at three different stages” of their lives with testicular cancer battles: Kevin Spies, Dr. Freeman McCluskey, and Will Sette.
The four discussed their respective journeys, and at one point, Reeve admitted he was “worried about being a burden” to his close friends and loved ones, including his wife, Amanda Dubin. “I’m so sorry for all of my loved ones who are dropping everything to be with me throughout this whole thing,” he said.
In an interview with People, Reeve revealed that after he found a lump on one of his testicles, Amanda encouraged him to see a doctor. “It’s probably nothing,” she told her husband, “but what if it’s something?”
Reeve praised his wife for “persuading” him to get an ultrasound. “We talk about ‘in sickness and in health,” he told the outlet. “We got an early test of our vows, just a few months in.”
Amanda, a New York-based luxury wedding and event planner, added, “The silver lining was that we had validation early in the marriage that we are well-equipped to tackle anything.” He also did sperm banking, “because we do want to start a family,” he notes. “And while an orchiectomy doesn’t prevent natural conception, you never know, so you want to be safe.”
The couple started dating in 2022 and made their relationship Instagram official in April 2023, when Reeve posted a selfie of the two in front of the Eiffel Tower. Since then, they’ve popped up on each other’s respective pages.
They announced their engagement in a joint post on Nov. 10, 2024, sharing photos of the sweet proposal and the intimate party that followed. Reeve and Amanda officially tied the knot on Jan. 17, 2026, at the Rubell Museum in Miami.
“Seeing the faces of all of our favorite people in one place is unlike anything I’ve experienced,” Amanda told Vogue, adding that “getting to share our love with the people who matter the most to us is something I’ll never forget.”
