Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, First Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, inspected the Kwisong Salt Works to check the production of salt by means of underground protosalt water.

Last year the People's Army set up a process of producing salt by using underground protosalt water at the Kwisong Salt Works and put it into operation. Notably, it has registered a miraculous 7 000-odd-ton output in over 150 hectares of salt pans since early March to date.

The supreme leader said he came in such a hurry after being told that the People's Army adopted a new salt production method to make a great deal of salt in smaller areas of slatterns, adding that it has set the stage for fully satisfying the growing economic demands for salt.

He compared the new production method to the previous one relying on seawater to learn more about the economic effectiveness of the new method.

The production by underground protosalt water helps cut both salt fields and production cycle drastically and reduce the cost, and it also makes it possible to more than double the output per hectare, he said.

As the salt made from the underground protosalt water contains less brine than that from the seawater, he noted, it tastes little bitter and it is also helpful in promoting the people's health and producing foods, cosmetics and other daily necessities because it is rich in potassium and iodine but contains less heavy metals.

Confrontation Hastens Lee Myung Bak’s Doomsday

In August the Lee Myung Bak conservative regime made desperate efforts to survive the extreme ruling crisis at the end of its tenure with the help of a frantic anti-DPRK confrontation row.

It ran counter to the unanimous aspiration and demand at home and abroad for peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, waging extremely provocative and aggressive war exercises of all sorts one after another.

A typical example was the Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises conducted between August 20 and 31 with the involvement of some 30 000 US troops including forces stationed in other countries, huge forces of the south Korean puppet army and service personnel from the US allies.

Precious Dream

Pyon has two aunts who were once acrobatic gymnasts. Seeing her family rejoiced over their wins at tournaments, Pyon as little girl fostered a precious dream in her mind. I should be an acrobatic gymnast and make my family happy as my aunts did. That’s how she began to learn heavy gymnastics when she was 8. She knew acrobatic gymnastics is based on heavy gymnastics, and so she was strenuous to acquire techniques. In those days she became known as player good at rhythmic somersault. And she also won honour at national tournaments. For such merits she was admitted in the sports team of the Ministry of Commerce as performer of two-person modelling. Cherishing her precious dream in mind, she engrossed herself in somersault exercise, and tried hard to accomplish world-level technical movements such as the one of landing on the shoulder of the partner after turning a somersault sideways while keeping the body straight. Soon she displayed her skills on the international stage. She is not only a lovely daughter of her family but a player the whole country knows.
