Side Missions

This portion of IGN’s Ghostwire Tokyo guide covers all 42 side missions, including repeats, yokai missions, and more. Side missions in Ghostwire Tokyo are more than just a good way to earn extra money. They often include self-contained stories delving deeper into the game’s world, offering insight into its people, and sometimes venturing into sensitive and poignant topic areas.

Side quests appear on your map as green markers and usually unlock after major milestones. The most common is cleansing an area’s torii gate or shrine, though many only appear after you finish certain story missions. While no side mission is required to actually complete the game, you do need to complete the yokai missions, among a few others, to obtain Magatama items, which are necessary for unlocking some of the higher levels of Akito’s skill tree.

Each page lists the requirements for unlocking the mission, so if it’s one you haven’t come across yet, you likely need to complete a certain mission or cleanse a different area first.
