3. Live updates

Pre-orders will open up at 10am UK time, with the US following suit at 10am ET today, September 29. There are (only) two editions up for grabs, at least right now: a standard edition (digital or physical, presumably with a disc) and a digital deluxe edition. The blog post also mentions no pricing and doesn't include any messaging about whether the game will be at all the usual retailers either.

At the time of writing, there's also no pricing information provided by Sony; however, there are specifics on the pre-order bonuses, which I've detailed below.

God of War Laufey pre-orders begin soon, so get in position and choose your retailer of choice with one of our links, and we'll keep you posted with the latest information as we get it.

I'm a huge PlayStation fan and a big follower of all things God of War, and I've also got experience covering huge launches and pre-orders across games and hardware for over half a decade now, which puts me in a great place to help you get the edition of God of War Laufey that you want, amidst the frantic action.

LIVE: Latest Updates

Still, loads of options on the table - and so, goodbye!

Despite some absences on both sides of the pond, US and UK folk have a bunch of options now, so we are ending our live running coverage of the God of War Laufey pre-orders here.

Thanks for joining, and I hope you're happy with your pre-order if you got one!

Amazon is finally here!

FINALLY. Here's Amazon entering the party:

Still nothing from those big US retailers...

Weird absences as they are, here are your current US options:

Still nothing from Amazon US, Walmart, or Target...

Come on.... list something....

Now we're starting to cook; Best Buy are here too!

GameStop are here!

The PlayStation store has both digital pre-orders alive and kicking for US folk.

Five minutes

Only five minutes before eager pre-orderers can secure their copy of God of War Laufey.

30 minutes now...

I'm furiously refreshing the US retailers hoping to see an early listing but no dice yet.

Just 30 mins to go!

Less than an hour to go!

US pre-orders open in less than an hour now, so it's time to get in position if you're looking to place your order today to nail down your copy way in advance of launch.

75 minutes until US pre-orders!

OK, we're now going to start turning out attention to the US as there's only about 75 minutes or an hour and a quarter to go!

Nope, not still not seeing anything from Amazon and Argos, so these are all your UK options right now.

But still no Amazon or Argos...

That was a good run of retailers getting in on the action with God of War Laufey listings, but there are two glaring absences in the form of Amazon and Argos.

Strange that those two haven't joined in yet and are leaving potential customers on the table...

And now the PlayStation Store has joined in for those looking to pre-order digitally!

Currys is live! We have our first hit!

Pre-orders are live! Well, sort of...

It's a couple minutes past 10am so pre-orders are now live! At least they would be if I could see them anywhere at retailers...

Now only 20 minutes to go

We're now only 20 or so minutes from go time in the UK, so we might start seeing some retailer listings very soon!

Hopefully it'll be easy and fuss free...

One hour warning!

UK fans have one hour left to go before pre-orders open!

Will any retailers go early?

I've queued up all the likely UK retailers now, and am already furiously just in case any list their stock early.

This isn't just an overly optimistic thing to do; some retailers have previous form in doing this, and doing this with Sony products too, such as limited edition DualSense controllers.

Asa a result, I'll keep checking regularly now and bring you anything I can find.

Two hour warning for UK folk

Just two hours to go for those in the UK looking to place their God of War Laufey pre-order!

Start bookmarking those links above and getting into position if you want to nab your copy early.

Some more peeks into the game

We also got a cool look at two more screenshots and further insight into Laufey's combat moves in the blog post yesterday too, for what it's worth. The below one is particuilarl;y iontneresting: Krfatos is present and it's in an ancient Greek setting!

Hmmmm!

Will you be pre-ordering?

The lack of a special or collector's edition might impact some folks' desire to pre-order the next in PlayStation's behemoth series. What about you, will you be pre-ordering?

Why no collector's edition?

It's definitely intriguing that there are no special or collector's editions of the game announced - might they come down the line?

Only four hours to go in the UK!

For any early birds in the UK, this is your four hour warning! Time to start plotting out your God of War Laufey pre-order moves way ahead of time, and thinking about your preferred retailer etc.

It'll be here before you know it!

Hello there!

It's early in the morning in the UK, and I'm up at the crack of dawn, so am reviving our God of War Laufey pre-order coverage!

We're pausing our coverage for now...

OK, we've stuck our flag in the ground, placed our towel over the sunbather, and made sure we're in position early for tomorrow's pre-orders but are going to put down this live coverage for a while.

All the links and information on this page are up to date, and the best for informing your self and for bookmarking should you wish to do so ahead of time.

Otherwise, we'll see you tomorrow!

When and where?

Some core bits of information here.

First, remember that its 10am local time that God of War Laufey pre-orders will begin.

Secondly, Sony hasn't actually stated anything in particular about retailers, which feels weird, but simultaneously must mean that all the usual go-to sellers and stockists will be in play — which is great news for keeping our options open!

And some extra bits for those going deluxe mode

For those going big and who want the maximum number of pre-order bonuses, the digital deluxe edition will be for you. By pre-ordering that, you get everything in my previous post, as well as the following:

  • The Dark Alchemy Armor Set
  • The Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, and Dark Alchemy Catalyst
  • An in-game resource pack
  • A digital mini artbook
  • A digital copy of the official soundtrack

The bonus for everyone

If you pre-order either the standard or the digital deluxe edition, you'll get a handful of nifty bonuses shown above in the graphic.

These are:

  • Last Wish Armor Set
  • Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance cosmetic
  • An in-game resource pack

Pre-order bonuses have been detailed

There are some digital goodies up for grabs if you pre-order God of War Laufey , no matter what edition you go for.

And PlayStation has shared some deets on those...

Almost a shadow drop...

There's usually a bit more of a fanfare and build-up to pre-orders for huge games like this, but Sony has gone for a really short run-up, it seems, with the pre-order announcement coming today and pre-orders themselves dropping tomorrow, September 29, 2026.

And the important time to remember is 10am local time — that's when it all kicks off.
