"The first and second chapters of Sylvia of the Stubbles first appeared in vol. 38 issue 5 of Woman's World in their May 1922 special Mother's Day edition . . . the story continued for the next three issues, ending in August 1922. However, in 1923, the story was re-released in a book format by Reilly and Lee Co., a relatively popular publishing house from Chicago. This publication is noteworthy because it differed from her previous publications with a relatively obscure South Dakotan education company. The subject of Sylvia of the Stubbles was also different, focused on a young female protagonist."
