2026.5 beta desktop app for Windows - UI is slightly broken

Is it a bug?

Current Behavior

The right-most edge/side of Mullvad app is cut off for me since the first 2026.5 RC release. I think the app UI is moved to the right past viewable area by 5-10 pixels or so. This issue fixes itself when the app is minimized and opened again. The right-most edge/side also gets cut after a reboot. Not a big issue, but buggy UI leaves negative impressions.

This behavior was not present in 2026.4 beta or final versions.

I am on the latest version of Windows 11 25H2.

This UI problem should not be there.

I got small black line at the right of the map once when opening the app, maybe two pixels wide. It doesn't quite match your description, though.

This is what mine looks like every time I shut it down and restart it:

That cut off goes away after I minimize and re-open the app.

I assume it means the bug was reproduced and will be fixed.

It means I added it to our internal tracker. I haven't been able to reproduce it myself, but I'll bring it up with the frontend devs to get their take on it.

Fixed in the test version that updates Electron to 42.11.

Could you introduce this Electron update in nightly releases/builds going forward? Otherwise I get to miss out on good UI or on the newest changes.

As you can see in my screenshot from #11148 (comment), the update also causes some other graphical issues. As soon as we get that working it will be merged to main, which is built nightly. The next beta release should include the updated Electron version too.
