LED face masks, also known as red light therapy masks, are designed to reduce inflammation, support collagen production and improve skin tone and texture for an antiaging effect. Plus, if blue light is available, LED face masks may even help with acne. One drawback, however, is that they can cost you hundreds of dollars.

With Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days making a comeback from Oct. 6 to Oct. 7, now is a great time to get an LED face mask on sale. But with so many models on the market, it can be hard to narrow down your selection. As someone who has spent years testing these masks, I’m here to help.

These are the three red light masks I recommend you check out during Prime Day sales, all of which have been cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Best LED face mask overall

Shark CryoGlow

Get it now

Expert Take

Shark’s FDA-cleared CryoGlow combines red, blue and deep infrared light, but perhaps the best part is that it also uses under-eye cooling with three levels for a refreshing effect. There are four treatment modes that range from 4 to 15 minutes: better aging, skin clearing, skin sustain and under-eye revive.

Normally $350, the CryoGlow is currently on sale for 15% off, bringing the price down to $299 and making it one of the best affordable LED face masks on the market. This applies to all three colors: blue frost, lilac chill and rose glow.

Bottom Line

The Shark CryoGlow is a great LED mask if you're looking to spend under $300, especially with its built-in under-eye cooling.

Best LED face mask for multitasking

iRestore Illumina

Expert Take

On top of being light, at 181 grams (0.4 pounds), the FDA-cleared Illumina is perfect for treating your skin while multitasking, thanks to the mask’s dual straps for a secure fit, a clip-on remote, a built-in eye shield and a slit for breathing. All it requires is 10 minutes of your time for any of its three modes: red and infrared light; red, infrared and blue light; and blue light.

This mask is a whopping 50% off, taking the $799 full price down to $399. You can also get a free iRestore Vitamin C Brightening Serum with your purchase.

Bottom Line

If you prefer to do your skin care while checking off other items on your to-do list, the iRestore Illumina is ideal.

Best affordable LED face mask

Renpho Artemis

Get it now

Expert Take

If you want a flexible LED face mask that also offers under-chin coverage, the FDA-cleared Renpho Artemis is a great choice – especially as the most affordable LED face mask CNET has tested. In addition to three settings, there are five intensities, and it comes with removable eye cups for eye protection.

While already affordable at a full price of $200, Renpho’s Artemis is currently even cheaper at $150 (25% off). This is a great deal for an LED mask.

Bottom Line

If you want an affordable, flexible LED face mask that extends its coverage to under your chin, you can’t go wrong with the Renpho Artemis.

What’s the best choice?

All three of these LED face masks are great choices for different needs, but the current best overall mask CNET has tested is the Shark CryoGlow, which stands out with its under-eye cooling capabilities. If price is a concern, the Renpho Artemis is the most affordable option on this list. But if price is no object, you’re a multitasker and don’t want under-eye cooling, opt for the iRestore Illumina.

Should you wait for Prime Day sales?

Waiting for Prime Day isn’t a bad idea, as these discounts may increase in honor of the occasion, but they may also stay the same or disappear. If you’re happy with the current sale price, now might be the right time to add an LED face mask to your cart, especially if you want to get it sooner rather than later. But if you’re in no rush and want to see if the deals deepen to get the best possible price, waiting a day or two for Prime Day may be best.
