Brittlebush is an enemy encampment in the desert. You can approach the location by heading northeast from the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire or by gliding northwest from the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire.
Brittlebush is littered with gold and silver chests, each of which can contain a piece of the Gloom Monarch armor set. Chests are randomized in Enshrouded, so there is no guarantee you will get all five pieces of the armor set in one run. The chest loot is divided up between the Gloom Monarch set, the Hawk set, the Spellbinder set, and a series of high-level weapons.
Since there is no guarantee you will get the Gloom Monarch set in one go, you will more than likely have to return to Brittlebush a number of times before you collect them all. You can do this naturally over time or by exiting to the main menu. Every time you exit to the main menu and reload your game, the chests will respawn. Using this tactic makes Brittlebush a great farming spot!
There are six chests in particular that can contain the Gloom Monarch armor set:
You can take any route you'd prefer to pick up each of these chests, and the path you will take will likely depend on what direction you come from. But the easiest place to start is from the left, working your way down to the bottom right, then up to the top right corner of the compound.
If you choose to take this route, start by climbing the hill on the left side of the encampment and glide to the rooftops of the buildings on the left side of the area. There, you will find the first golden chest.
Jump across the next two rooftops to the east to reach the next golden chest.
Leap to the next roof over and glide down to the small, square building to the right. There is a Scavenger patrolling the area just outside the shack, so take care of the enemy or just dart into the house to avoid it.
Make sure to prepare yourself before heading down the stairs to the shack. The small cellar is swarming with high-level enemies guarding the sarcophagus you are heading down there to open, so have a potion or eat some food if you need to replenish some health, and make sure you have your weapon equipped.
Once you're ready, head down the stairs and open the sarcophagus to hopefully collect another piece of the Gloom Monarch set.
Run back up the stairs and make your way southeast to reach the bottom right corner of Brittlebush, where you will find the next two chests. The first chest is on the rooftops. Head behind the second building from the corner to find a grate leading to the roof. Jump up into the hole in the wall of the opposite building to get a running jump over to the grate.
Turn south and climb the next grate to reach the second floor of the neighboring building. Craft a lockpick using some metal scraps to open the door on your left. If you don't have any metal scraps, there are some lying on a table below the window. Smash the other pots nearby to find more metal scraps if you need them.
Head into the room to find a pile of rubble on the floor. Climb over it and look toward the ceiling. Use the Grappling Anchor to haul your way to the roof, where you will find the next chest.
Turn south and fly to the top of the small tower. Turn north, and head through the pile of rubble in the house directly ahead to find the next chest.
Head outside and follow the very edge of the compound heading north until you come across a tiered orange building. Climb to the top tier and enter the door facing the Shroud to find the next chest.
Continue to follow the houses east until you reach the one in the center with two vases outside. The chest is on the roof of this building, which is simple to reach if you have the Double Jump skill unlocked. Otherwise, climb on top of the vases to give yourself a boost up onto the roof.
You can respawn these chests as many times as you need to to find every piece of the Gloom Monarch set. If the set isn't showing up for you, don't feel discouraged and keep trying. The Gloom Monarch armor is programmed to spawn here, so it's just a matter of time before you collect the entire set! And in the meantime, you will be collecting all sorts of other legendary and high-level weapons and armor in these chests to keep you going.
